I’m Carlos “theydrift” Aguilar, a Mexican/Chicano artist based in the Pacific Northwest. My practice is rooted in graffiti, shaped by over 25 years of working with aerosol, and continues to evolve through murals, portraiture, oil painting, and mixed media.

My work moves between public space and the studio, blending realism, abstraction, and bold color to explore identity, movement, cultural memory, and human connection. I’m drawn to the stories people carry, the places that shape us, and the connections that exist between us.

Whether I’m painting a wall or working on canvas, the process remains at the center of it all. The work continues to evolve, but the roots stay the same.
